Research
Fert Research’s research funding focus is on collaborative projects.
Funding is dedicated to existing projects, such as ongoing additions to Overseer and PhD project support as well as consortium and joint project funding.
Our research goals are:
- Facilitating major beneficial changes in nutrient management practices
- Driving significant innovation in systems and tools for nutrient management
- Delivering direct benefits for farmers - financial, environmental or technological
Ongoing scientific research is critical to New Zealand agriculture. New agricultural innovations will ensure the fertiliser industry keeps up with agriculture industry developments, in New Zealand and overseas. Fert Research gives research funding high priority, spending up to, and sometimes in excess of $1million annually.
Funded research aims to generate new knowledge and innovation in nutrient use. It also aims to deliver direct financial or environmental benefits to land managers, allied sectors, and to the country as a whole.
